Penn and Teller— Fool Us is a magic competition television show in which magicians perform tricks in front of American magician-comedian duo Penn & Teller. The first season was expertly hosted by Jonathan Ross,and the third season by the female host Alyson.
Each episode starts off with an introduction that explains the purpose of the series. Penn & Teller come out and are seated at center stage,and the hopeful performers perform their acts before them,in front of an audience of live viewers. Following each show,Penn & Teller privately talk while the host interview the magicians. Penn & Teller then reveal their knowledge of how the trick was executed,typically using cryptic words or by writing down the method and presenting it privately to the magicians for confirmation,the method,in order to avoid divulging the methods behind the trick.

Fool Us was filmed at Fountain Studios in London,England (season one) and the Penn and Teller Theatre in Las Vegas (season two onward). Following each show,when Penn & Teller cannot figure out how a trick was done,the magician(s) who performed the trick get a Fool Us trophy and a five-star trip in Las Vegas to perform as the opening act of Penn & Teller’s show which is also held at The Rio Hotel & Casino. The 12th season premiered on the 15th of October 2021.

The film was shot on Fountain Studios in London,England during its initial season,before relocating to the Penn & Teller Theater in Las Vegas,Nevada for its second and subsequent seasons.
